VSI Group named in the Entertainment Globalization Association's Top 100

We're delighted to see that members of the VSI Group management team have been featured in the EGA's Top 100 edition, celebrating the people behind the art and science of global storytelling.  

This special recognition celebrates the 100 most influential professionals in the entertainment globalisation industry, based on their leadership and accomplishments in 2022 and selected by their colleagues and peers.

Leadership

#1 Cornelia Al-Khaled - COO 

Following a transformational decade as MD of VSI London, where she oversaw phenomenal growth for one of the most important global entertainment LSPs, Cornelia took on a new role as Group COO. In this new capacity, she has worked to further integrate diverse parts of the business across multiple territories, supporting our expansions in the LATAM region and the centralisation of key functions and technology systems across the VSI Group.

#2 Norman Dawood - Founder and Group Managing Director 

Continued VSI’s expansion of owned and operated facilities and completed the construction of major new studios in Mexico City, Cairo and Istanbul. All this while maintaining VSI’s reputation for consistent high quality and customer service throughout its language offering and VSI’s position as one of the two largest entertainment localisation providers with a global presence.

Business Development

#1 Guillermo Patiño-Mayer - CEO, LATAM (Buenos Aires & Mexico City)

Guillermo has led VSI CIVISA since its acquisition in 2019 and expanded his oversight to the wider LATAM region in 2022. His focus has been to mitigate the impact of increasing costs, resource shortages and inflation in the region, whilst enhancing the overall client experience. For nearly two decades he has played a key role within the Argentinian dubbing industry and is now focused on expanding the LATAM localisation services around the world.

#10 Sally Wallington - Sales Director 

As the Sales Director for VSI London, Sally has dedicated her efforts to ensuring a positive experience and providing cost-effective, creative solutions for our client base. In 2022, she worked to restructure our internal teams to better align with our client requirements and improved the customer experience across the board. She oversees the International Sales and Global Account Management functions and guarantees that this client-centred approach underpins everything we do.

Operations

#1 Cornelia Al-Khaled - COO 

Cornelia joined VSI HQ in 2013 as MD and, in 2022, took on the role of Group COO. In this new capacity, she has streamlined VSI to handle greater volumes with increased efficiency, and a broader service range while maintaining the highest levels of customer service and quality standards. She has worked across multiple territories to support the implementation of new technology to continue to strengthen our operations and ensure excellence and the best possible customer experience.

#6 Ulrike Schubert - Managing Director, VSI Berlin 

Ulrike joined VSI HQ in 2001 and set up VSI Berlin in 2005. As MD, she leads 100 staff delivering dubbing, subtitling, access services and multi-lingual production management from impressive facilities on the banks of the river Spree. Globally, one of the biggest challenges of 2022 has been extending the talent base. VSI Berlin has offered training programmes since its early days and 2022 saw the launch of several additional initiatives to ensure the talent pool continues to grow and diversify.

#15 Marek Rybarczyk - Managing Director, VSI Warsaw 

Marek leads the VSI Warsaw team. In 2022 they doubled their capacity for VO and lip-sync dubbing to meet increasing demand. This was achieved alongside a comprehensive studio modernisation programme and an operational reorganisation to further streamline workflows, whilst maintaining the quality VSI is known for. VSI Warsaw has a deep-rooted history in localisation that began with the production of theatrical subtitles and now covers the full range of services including songs and advertising.

#16 Alexander Weiser - General Manager, VSI Los Angeles 

Alex is the General Manager of VSI Los Angeles, which opened its initial dubbing studio facility in June of 2017. Under his leadership, the studio expanded into a second facility and more than tripled its capacity. Alex now manages a 50-strong team that leads the industry in the high-end US English dubbing of top tier Live-Action shows. Focus for 2022 has been ramping up capacity and continuing to recruit and train new talent to meet the substantial increase in demand.
