About the role: 

Reporting and analysis of historical management information (30%)

• Support the Group Controllership team in gathering and consolidating accounting data from the Group subsidiaries and associates on a monthly basis
• Partner with the Group Controllership team to ensure local accounting data is consistently reported and mapped to the Group chart of accounts in order to allow meaningful analysis
• Collect operational KPIs across the Group and perform variance analysis to explain financial results on a monthly basis, and help the business take action to improve performance

Implementation and administration of financial information system (70%)

• Coordinate the rollout of the Group financial system across key subsidiaries, with responsibility for timeline, budget and delivery to specifications
• Liaise on a daily basis with local finance teams and external implementation partners
• Leverage key users in locations that have already implemented the system to facilitate user acceptance and training in new locations
• Coordinate data migration activities
• Ensure that the initial implementation and use of the system over time are consistent across locations, to enable simpler processes, efficiencies and coherent information  

Financial accounting and reporting: Intermediate

• Demonstrate awareness and knowledge of the accounting standards
• Prepare or review financial statements and reports, and ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with reporting requirements

Management reporting and analysis: Intermediate

• Provide analysis to support decision-making, identifying the key value drivers
• Review variance analyses and account reconciliations, and identify items requiring attention
• Extract and deliver straightforward management information reports
• Prepare and provide accurate and timely financial data
• Use financial ratio analysis to evaluate an organisation's performance
• Analyse business results, identify learning points and help to communicate them through the organisation
• Review management reports, including identification and awareness of the key causes of business variances
• Benchmark business performance internally

Business planning: Foundational

• Contribute to the business planning, budgeting and expenditure forecasting processes

Finance information systems: Intermediate/Advanced

• Lead implementation of technology upgrades/enhancements
• Proactively share knowledge across the business to streamline systems
• Understand applicability of new and improved IT developments and solutions
• Secure in-depth understanding of functionality (i.e. knows what the right answer is and how data should flow)

Process management: Intermediate

• Aware of key business processes and key metrics associated
• Contribute to and make suggestions for process improvement activities
• Manage others to ensure they comply with processes
• Ensure standardisation is applied to all processes

Business partnering and project management: Intermediate

• Develop simple project plans and apply project management tools and techniques
• Communicate project plans and outcomes
• Execute part of a project, monitor own progress, identify obstacles and take corrective actions
• Understand the interests and profiles of key stakeholders in the organisation

People: Intermediate/Advanced

• Adapt your personal style to suit different people and situations
• Listen to and be sensitive to the views and values of others
• Understand and relate to others from different cultures and backgrounds, including peers and partners in an open, friendly and professional way
• Sell own ideas and agenda by linking them to the needs and goals of others
