HD Our in-house technical team are currently working side-by-side with developers to provide the latest solutions for HD subtitling. Up until now, DVD has been the standard for delivering video content to the end-user. It still remains the easiest and most widely used playback option. DVD uses red lasers to read and write data. HD DVD is the format accepted by the DVD Forum* to be the successor to DVD. Offering 3 times the storage of DVD and with high definition video at 1080p / 1080i or 720p picture resolutions as standard it can also offer unique interactivity if connected to the web via ethernet. HD DVD is read and written using a blue-violet laser. Blu-ray is a rival format to HD DVD and offers more storage data than both HD DVD and DVD. Offering 5 times the storage of DVD and with the high definition video as HD DVD at 1080p / 1080i and 720p picture resolutions as standard Blu-ray offers BD-J (Java) interactive capabilities. Blu-ray is read and written using a blue-violet laser. *DVD Forum is a consortium of companies which regulate the standards and specifications for DVD-Video. |
